What the Weather Is Like
Temperature
The climate in San Juan Province is warm and tropical year-round, with temperatures typically ranging from 80°F to 90°F (27°C – 32°C). There is no true cold season. Expect heat, especially during morning and afternoon construction work.
Rainfall & humidity
While temperatures stay consistent throughout the year, rainfall and humidity vary by season. The wetter months tend to be May through October. Regardless of when you travel, staying hydrated and wearing sunscreen are the most important daily practices.
What to pack
Lightweight, breathable fabrics — linen, cotton, and moisture-wicking materials are ideal. Closed-toe shoes or boots are required at the construction site. Bring a wide-brim hat, sunglasses, sunscreen (SPF 50+), and a light rain layer for wetter months.
Daily schedule context
Construction takes place in the morning and afternoon, with a 2-hour midday break for lunch and rest during the hottest part of the day. Evening community activities happen as temperatures ease slightly after sunset.
