Welcome Caroline Loftus!

Dear Friends,

The Board of Bridges to Community is delighted to announce the hiring of Caroline Loftus as Interim Executive Director, following the departure of our former Executive Director John Hannan.

Caroline comes to us with many years of increasingly responsible positions in the international humanitarian and development world. Most of her career has been spent at Save the Children, where among other things she led a group developing and implementing a new model for delivery of Save the Children’s programs in the field. As a proven executive with an excellent track record of achieving results collaboratively, she will assist us during a transitional time in formulating our vision for 2018 and beyond.

Since arriving at the beginning of July, Caroline has already fully immersed herself in the day-to-day operations, has traveled to several of our sites in the field, and is excited to be working with staff, board, volunteers and donors of our relatively small yet very effective organization.

As always, our Bridges team continues to work with communities in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic to assess and address their most critical needs. Our staff and volunteer groups are working with community members in multiple locations building houses and latrines, guiding and mentoring the students in our scholarship and internship programs, seeing thousands of patients through our medical brigades, and constructing a major medical clinic in the Siuna district which will bring sustainable health care to over 18,000 people in this under-served rural area. We all appreciate your continued participation in and support of our work.

Please join us in welcoming Caroline Loftus to the Bridges family.
