Educational Tours

With 25 years experience providing trip participants with meaningful cultural exchange while directly assisting in sustainable community-driven projects, Bridges to Community brings people to Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic to work, learn and reflect. The learning component educates and transforms participants making them more aware of the connections we all share in this world and the ways we can change our lives for the better. Here at Bridges to Community we also believe the learning experience we provide on our trips must also promote sustainable development by establishing a productive economic base allowing local residents and service providers to enjoy a rising standard of living. We are committed to incorporating the social dimensions of community and sustainable development throughout the trip.

Join us on one of our Learning Tours as we examine the impact of international Fair Trade policies on local farmers in the communities, agro-forestry as an international conservation tool and other topics that seek to provide a balance in our rapidly growing global society. Join one of our current trips below or contact us with a request to customize a trip for your group. Contact Rusty Pedersen, Vice President of Volunteer Services at 914-923-2200 or e-mail Rusty at: rusty.pedersen@bridgestocommunity.org to discuss your opportunities with Bridges to Community.
