The NYIT School of Osteopathic Medicine from Old Westbury, NY is sending a team of Physician Assistants to our site in Siuna, Nicaragua this spring. This team of medical professionals will work in conjunction with the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health to offer primary health care services to the under served population surrounding the community of Hormiguero, the site of the new 16 room Regional Health Center that Bridges to Community is currently constructing. With a construction completion date set for the end of March, 2018, these PA’s in training and their instructors will witness the final phase of construction from the confines of the small two room clinic it is replacing. These medical mission trips will typically see 50-100 patients/day for the 5 days BTC is hosting them. BTC currently hosts 7 medical mission trips throughout the year, impacting the lives of thousands of Nicaraguans. and their families. Thank you NYIT!
