Although Bridges has has to suspend volunteer trips for 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, it is continuing to work with its partner communities in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic on critical projects using local workers and community volunteers. We are so excited that work has resumed on the La Guama primary school in the Dominican Republic!

Bridges to Community develops poverty alleviation strategies with local communities in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Within selected rural regions of the two countries, Bridges works closely with community leaders to help mitigate poverty and build community capacity. Volunteers participate directly in our projects through service-learning trips.

The cycle of extreme poverty is not inescapable, but those in its clutches need our help to overcome their insufferable circumstances. Since 1992, Bridges to Community has succeeded in helping families and communities in impoverished areas of the Dominican Republic (DR) and Nicaragua build a better life for themselves and a brighter future for their children.
